diy cabin for $10k

Oh my, am I loving this DIY.  Mariah Morrow and Ryan Lingard spent $57,000 on this project.  $47,000 for a lovely slice of Oregon wilderness and $10,000 on the cabin itself.  It is just 130 square feet and a deck, and I think it's pretty near perfect.

Though I guess we'd have to spend another 10 grand and build one for the kids as well.

I loved this cabin when I first read about it at Sunset...maybe 2 side by side would answer the kid question!!

This is my idea of Heaven right now! After finishing renovating we are trying to find room for stuff...I am in major purge mode but my partner-not so much....so frustrating...thankyou for a slice of beauty!

I don't think it has a bathroom. I don't think I could live in a small cabin with no bathroom. I'm not necessarily huge on the idea of going to the bathroom in the woods.

That is absolutely fantastic. I daydream about something like this on a constant and continual basis (though never pictured something quite so cool--having no design imagination or ability whatsoever). Love what you wrote about how you're a city girl but dream about the country/homemaking, etc. I feel that way everyday (though I did grow up in more rural/suburban place, outside Boston, I'm now in Manhattan. Find it a very odd place to raise a child.
