the perfect messy bun

I am ever trying to accomplish the too-chic-to-spend-time-on-my-hair-look.  Mostly because I wish I were chic but have no time to spend on my hair.  So I am so excited to have just spotted this play by play tutorial on the perfectly mussed, effortlessly French bun.

Find it here.  Via A Cup of Jo.

I love this messy bun look! I recently cut my hair much shorter and was worried I would no longer be able to do said bun. But low and behold, I mastered it this morning (albeit with some supporting hair pins :) )

That is a gorgeous look! And my hair is curly, which automatically adds to the messiness. I'm definitely giving this a try.

Have you tried it? Does this really work? Or is this like shaking your hair upside-down to look like Gisele?

Love it! I'm a librarian at a college so I'm always trying to find the place between looking like a student and looking like a frump. This should work perfect.

Oh wow, I love the "too-chic-to-spend-time-on-my-hair-look." I too have been searching for the perfect hair-do. I think my quest is over (at least for now...)

I wear my hair like this all the time, I thought I was the only one who knew about it. Sigh.

I wore my hair like that almost all of my junior year in high school- and I'm a little sad my hair hasn't been long enough to do it since. Maybe I need to start growing my hair...
